NEW FIRMOO EYEGLASSES || REVIEW

London, UK

Still, a few days and 2013 is the gonna end: can you believe that? And am I the only one who still has to decide where to spend New Year's Eve and, most importantly, what to wear?? Anyway, here you can see my new Firmoo's pair of tortoise eyeglasses that I absolutely love! Firmoo is an online eyeglasses store, with a wide range of sunnies and eyeglasses (like the one that I chose). I personally chose the model #DBSN62046 in tortoise. The eyeglasses are extremely light and they come with two cases (a soft and a rigid one). I'm absolutely happy with them and I recommend you to check they're online site: I'm sure you're gonna find the right model for you! Thanks again Firmoo!
What do you think about it? Let me know! Happy holidays!!

BEST SIMPLE PURPLE MUA EYESHADOW

London, UK

As I showed you in one of my previous posts -here- I bought a new purple eyeshadow that I was really looking forward to trying.
I always wear a natural kind of look, but I wanted to try something different and new, so I decided to try different colours for my make up. I bought this eyeshadow at Superdrug for just £1, but you can easily find it in any other supermarket or even online on MUA store -here-.
I have to say that I'm really impressed! I snapped this picture after I applied my pearl eyeshadow shade n. 21 and, as you can see, the colour is really vibrant, sparkling and really pigmented. This eyeshadow is really easy to apply and very blendable! It's perfect if you just want to wear it alone, blend it with other colours or for an elegant smokey eye. The MUA's range of colours is really wide and they're all highly pigmented. If you're on a budget and want to be satisfied with the final result, this is the perfect product for you!

What do you think about it? Did you ever try an MUA's product? Let me know!

MUA purple eyeshadow

Just a quick post to show you guys some new entries in my wardrobe and in my make up bag.
When I went out to run some errands, I tried to stick to a budget simply because I'm gonna move at the end of the month and I really want to save as much money as possible. But I'm human so of course I HAD TO BUY SOMETHING!
If you didn't know, I absolutely love burgundy right now so when I saw this simple but cosy sweater at Primark, I couldn't resist!!
I always wanted a pair of faded jeans and when I saw these at H&M looking at me, it was love at the first sight. Finally I found a pair of faded skinny jeans that actually look great on me (god bless H&M)! Can't wait to show you guys some combinations for this two new items!
Right, almost forgot: I also bought a MUA purple eyeshadow while at Superdrug. A long time ago I bought my favourite red lipstick from the same product line, so I decided to give this eyeshadow a go and make a review it for you guys (it was just £1: I HAD TO BUY IT).
And that's all...for now!!

Stay tuned for some outfits and reviews!

HERBAL ESSENCES HELLO HYDRATION SHAMPOO | REVIEW ON NATURAL AFRO HAIR

London, UK
shampoo conditioner beauty natural hair review Rihanna Beyonce rashida natural hair journey
Today it's time to review the HERBAL ESSENCES HELLO HYDRATION SHAMPOO on my natural hair.
This moisture & shine shampoo with Hawaiian coconut extract for dry/damaged hair is quite popular in the natural curly hair community, but not all the comments are positive.
I found this shampoo at Wilko and it was half price (I paid it £1.66 for 400ml, a real bargain!). I decided to give it a go since I run out of my favourite shampoo and I'm always on the look out for great products.
You can find the Herbal Essence shampoo also in other supermarkets like Boots or Superdrug

Before buying this product, I made some researches about the ingredients to see what's inside and I found out that NOT all the ingredients are NATURAL, so if you use just 100% natural products for your hair this is NOT the shampoo for you.

A very positive aspect about this shampoo is that it has a light consistency that helps spreading the product everywhere and the cap is really practical and easy to use, especially when having wet hands in the shower.
Another positive aspect is definitely the coconut smell on your hair after using it! I'm obsessed with everything coconut, so for me this is a very big plus!
The main negative side is definitely the presence of silicons, sulphates and other chemicals. Because of them, my hair didn't feel as clean as it usually feels after using shampoo.

To get the result in the picture below, I finished my hair routine with the TREsemme Naturals conditioner (link of the review here), finger detangled my hair, rinsed all the product out, repeated the whole procedure twice and at the end styled my hair.
In conclusion, I would give this shampoo a 7-.

Have you tried this product? What do you think about it?

Hey girls! How's your week sgoing? Mine wonderfully! I was really excited to share with you today this post. Last week I received a LeMotto t-shirt from SheSheBonBon, a site where you can find beautiful writing tees. This is my first official collaboration post and I am so excited to share with you how I decided to style the t-shirt that I've received.

Each LeMotto tee is an handwritten graphic presented on the tshirt using screen or heat print.

As the site says "This isn't just a fashion tee. It's a  way for you to share something positive. A few powerful, constructive words. An opportunity to raise the common discourse. A chance to inspire those around you and look good doing it. It`s not just a tshirt. It`s a chance to share what you stand for". I couldn't agree more!

The fabric is very soft and light at the same time. Few people smiled at me after reading the motto on my tee and that is what made my day! I think sometimes we criticise and judge too easily instead of accept and respect each other.

Did you like how I styled my t-shirt? Have a lovely Monday y'all!

2 EASY WAYS TO TIE A HEADSCARF ON SHORT NATURAL AFRO HAIR

London, UK
Let`s get this weekend starteeeeeeeed! I can't wait for the weekend to begin, but before that I really want to share with you two quick & easy styles that are perfect for curly short hair!
What do you need for these styles? Only 3 minutes and your best scarf!

 THE CLASSIC TWIST...

1. Choose a scarf of your liking. In this case, I chose a slim rectangular fluo green scarf (measures are 65x5 cm).
2. Place the scarf's centre at the nape of your neck, bring it around and hold the ends out in front.
3. Twist the ends in the opposite direction.
4. Tuck in the loose ends under the foulard.

..or THE BOW TIE

1. Choose a scarf. In this case, I chose the same slim rectangular fluo green scarf.
2. Place the scarf's centre at the nape of your neck, bring it around and hold the ends out in front.
3. This time, create a bow at the top of your head with the ends.

Easy peasy lemon squeeze! Which method do you see yourself rocking?

BLACK TEA RINSE FOR HAIR GROWTH | TIPS FOR HEALTHY AND STRONG NATURAL AFRO HAIR

London, UK

I'm constantly looking for tips about natural curly hair care and yesterday I found a pretty good one. I'm talking about tea rinse

I found out that tea rinse helps decrease the hair shedding, promotes hair growth, softens and helps hair manageability.

Sikkim Temi by Akuppa, on Flickr

HOW TO DO A TEA RINSE:

All you have to do is boil some water, add 1 or 2 tea bags and let it steep for 5-10 minutes.
After the tea is ready, pour the tea directly on your hair after you've conditioned you hair.
To help your application, you could possibly use a spray bottle or an applicator to avoid mess and be more precise.

Once you finish applying the tea on your entire head, what I would suggest is to use the tea as a leave-in and go ahead in styling your hair as you prefer.

I did notice shinier and softer hair so I will definitely use this technique more often.

Did you ever tried a tea rinse? Was it helpful?

BRAID OUT ON WET NATURAL SHORT AFRO HAIR

London, UK
I admit it: I like to play and style with my natural hair. A lot!
Sometimes though, I like to stick to the classics so afro it is!

Today I wanted to try the TREsemme NATURALS NOURISHING MOISTURE CONDITIONER (you can see my review about this conditioner clicking here) as a simple leave-in and show you guys the results.

If you want to find out how I achieved this look, keep reading!

As usual I started with freshly washed hair. I prefer to wash my hair before every hairstyle just because damp and already detangled hair is easier for me to manipulate.
If you want to replicate this look and just use the irreplaceable water spray bottle (my BFF, by the way), it's fine!

I applied a small amount of TREsemme conditioner on my damp hair before start doing anything. This time I decided to go for a braid out result.
Today I was looking for a fresh and messy look: that's way I wasn't so precise while braiding my hair.

When your hair will be completely dry, is time to undo the braids!
As you can see, my hair is moisturised, shiny and fluffy thanks to the conditioner.

Do you like the result?

TREsemme NATURALS NOURISHING MOISTURE CONDITIONER for AFRO NATURAL HAIR | REVIEW

London, UK

It`s been a while since I last wrote a review, so here I am!
Today I`m gonna talk about TREsemme NATURALS NOURISHING MOISTURE CONDITIONER
If you have natural hair, you probably already heard about this product. I found it last Saturday at Superdrug, but I`m sure that you can found  it also at Boots. I paid it £2.50 for 750ml and I think is a fair price.

As the label says "TREsemme Naturals Nourishing Moisture Conditioner with certified organic aloe vera and avocado extracts, moisturises your hair for protection against damage and breakage. Our silicone free formula for lightweight conditioning, infuses hair with moisture for hair that`s noticeably more manageable and moisturised. Discover 10x stronger hair after just one use.
Formulated without parabens and also hypoallergenic, it is suitable for sensitive skin and gentle enough for use on colour treated hair."

It has a light consistency and the smell is fresh but gentle.
I generally apply it on damp hair and leave it on for about 5 minutes while I finger detangle my hair.
I used it just as a rinse-out and I can tell you that after using it, my hair feels really soft and my curls are super defined!
In conclusion, for me this product deserves an 8.

Have you tried this product before? How did your hair react to it?

THE VERSATILE BLOGGER AWARD

London, UK

Ho'w your day going? Mine is pretty amazing!
I've been nominated for the Versatile Blogger Award!! I have to thank Jen Nurick from The Boon Report for nominating me. I'm enthusiastic and so grateful that my work is appreciated!

This was M.G.’s definition of the award: A mutual admiration society where bloggers recognize their peers for writing quality blogs that touched them in some way. The VBAs honor the blogger rather than specific posts. It’s a chance for bloggers to pat themselves on the back like the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences does with the Oscars. Until someone starts giving out Blogscars, the VBAs will have to suffice.

There are 3 rules:

1. Thank the person that nominated you and give them a shout out on your blog with a link to theirs
2. Share 7 random facts about yourself
3. Send on the award to 15 other bloggers whose blog you love and appreciate and then let them know thew won the award.

7 things about me:

1- I have two sisters and one brother
2- I want everybody to know that natural hair is beautiful NO METTER WHAT
3-  I played volleyball for many years
4- I`m able to complete word search puzzles in few minutes.
5- I love african print dresses
6- I love to sing
7- I don`t like coffee

VERY EASY DAY-TO-NIGHT HAIRSTYLE for SHORT NATURAL HAIR | CLASSIC STYLE

London, UK

Hello girls! This week  was a little bit stressful for me, but the weekend is finally near so I can't complain!!

In this post I want to share two looks that are perfect for those of you who still wear TWA (Teeny Weeny Afro) and love to rock the afro. I miss my TWA period a little bit, you know?

Below you`re gonna find two versions for the short hairstyle: the first one for the day and the second one for the night.

DAY LOOK

After I washed my hair, I applied some drops of argan oil, used shea butter and let it dry. When my hair was dry, I parted my hair with a straight side line on the right side.
Easy as that!

For this daily look, I used the Maybelline Foundation Fit me number 355, a neutral lip gloss and just a touch of MUA mascara. The earrings are from Stylize.

NIGHT TIME

For the second look I opted for a pop of colour, so I applied my MUA red lipstick and I showed off my Destiny's gold earrings.

What do you think about this two simple looks? Which one do you prefer?

SIMPLE SHORT NATURAL HAIR MOHAWK HAIRSTYLE FOR BLACK WOMEN

London, UK

When having short natural hair, you could think that there's not enough hairstyle to try out.
One of the easiest and trendiest hairstyle that I think is perfect for transitioning or short hair is the mohawk.

As you may know, a mohawk (or mohican haircut) is an hairstyle when you shave your sides and you leave just a strip of hair in the center of the head from the forehead to the nape.
I very much like to revisit the traditional mohawk and make a curly faux hawk (or frohawk), a really similar mohawk where you don't have to shave your sides and the hair down the center of the head is curly.

If you want to know how to achieve the curly faux hawk, keep reading!

First thing I washed my hair and braided the sides of my head.
If you can't do cornrows and still want to achieve the same results, there are two main options:

1. You can either use bobby pins until the sides are completely flat or 2. you could help yourself with some strong hair gel.

After the cornrows, I did some braided bantu knots on the central part of the head.

This is the braided bantu knot out effect on my dry hair.

And that's the final result! What do you think about it?
Have a nice weekend!
